Data protection law is changing – are you ready?

No doubt you have seen this four-letter acronym by now – GDPR. It stands for the General Data Protection Regulation, new legislation that makes sweeping changes to data protection requirements.

It will have an immediate impact when it becomes law on 25 May 2018, by which time any organisation processing personal data must be compliant – irrespective of Brexit.

The regulation extends the data rights of individuals and requires organisations to implement stringent policies and procedures to protect personal data. It will impose eye-watering fines for non-compliance – up to €20 million or 4% of annual global turnover, whichever is greater.

Given its complexity, we have developed a simple solution for GDPR compliance – Acuity DataGuard™. Start with a tailored audit to assess the risks and highlight any gaps. Then choose from a range of optional services for all-round data security, such as:

  • Corrective action and training
  • 24/7 data breach hotline
  • Security monitoring and penetration testing
  • Cyber security standards

With the clock ticking until the all-important GDPR compliance date, taking the time now to assess your data practices will reap rewards further down the line so speak to us about getting GDPR ready.

Contact Kerry Beynon and Phil Pugh regarding this.
