Employees who lose a child under the age of 18 will be entitled to two weeks away from work to allow them some time to grieve, under the Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act 2018 which received Royal Assent last week.
Expected to come fully into force in April 2020, the detail of how the new legislation will work in practice, including what bereaved parents will be paid during the leave, will follow in supporting regulations.
