Professional Background

Tom joined Acuity in November 2016 as a solicitor in the Corporate team, having recently qualified. Prior to joining Acuity, Tom completed his training at a leading regional firm where he gained experience advising on corporate transactions.

Tom's role mainly involves drafting suites of documents including sale and purchase agreements, investment agreements, shareholders' agreements, disclosure letters, board minutes and resolutions on corporate transactions. He is also heavily involved in managing and advancing the due diligence process, reporting to clients and managing data rooms.

Tom also has experience drafting and advising on various commercial contracts, including drafting policy documents for websites and reviewing commercial contracts in connection with legal due diligence exercises.

Work Highlights

  • Coordinating and liaising with all of the workstreams at Capita plc in connection with their acquisition programme;
  • Assisting Portman Healthcare Limited in relation to its ‘buy- and build’ acquisition programme;
  • Acting for Bluestone Resorts on their capital reorganisation, financed in part by a multimillion pound loan from Barclays; and
  • Advising a public sector client on the £30m floatation of a pharmaceutical company on the AIM stock exchange.


Tom obtained his undergraduate law degree at Cardiff University and completed the LPC at Cardiff Law school.

Tom enjoys rugby, golf and football and has participated in a number of physical challenges for charity, including completing the National Three Peaks challenge in June 2016 and the Swansea and Cardiff Half Marathons in 2015.
