Rebecca Mahon

Rebecca Mahon

Solicitor - Employment

Professional Background

Rebecca is a solicitor in the employment department. Rebecca joined Acuity in September 2015 as a trainee, and qualified in October 2017. Rebecca spent the majority of her period of recognised training assisting on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including assisting Claire Knowles (Employment Partner) with training events.

Work Highlights

Rebecca’s role involves drafting employment documentation (such as employment and consultancy contracts, bonus schemes, policies and procedures, staff handbooks), preparing settlement agreements, and assisting on internal reorganisations and other employment processes (such as disciplinary and grievance investigations and hearings).

Rebecca has worked for a variety of clients, including national and international private organisations, public companies, charities, local government and individuals.

Rebecca also particularly enjoys training and development – including delivering training sessions (internally and externally) and writing articles and legal/HR updates for the website. Having previously created and developed ‘Junior Acuity’, a forum for Acuity’s junior employees to discuss their training and development, Rebecca now co-ordinates Acuity’s mentoring programme.

Rebecca was educated at Llandovery College in Carmarthenshire and completed her LLB at the University of Reading. Rebecca completed her LPC at BPP Holborn (London), and is currently converting her LPC into a Masters in Law and Business. She studied French at degree level and speaks Welsh fluently.
