Professional Background

Lisa-Marie joined Acuity as a trainee solicitor in September 2015 and recently qualified into the firm’s corporate and commercial department.

Prior to joining Acuity, Lisa-Marie worked as a paralegal in both conveyancing and litigation and gained experience as an account coordinator for a national service provider.

Lisa-Marie deals with a range of commercial matters, including advising on and reviewing general commercial contracts, framework agreements and terms and conditions. Lisa-Marie also has experience with corporate transactions including acquisitions and disposals, group restructures and shareholders' arrangements.

Lisa-Marie has recently undertaken a client secondment, acting as in house legal advisor to provide both UK and international commercial and contract support on a broad range of matters.

Work Highlights

Work highlights include:

  • Supervising the international implementation of a privacy policy and terms and conditions for a new sales management application within the UK and across seven different countries.
  • Coordinating the international registration of a trademark under WIPO.
  • Managing the roll out of an employee share scheme to over 50 employees.
  • Reviewing and amending IP licence agreements across 11 entities within a client’s group of companies.
  • Drafting and advising on contracts governing the bespoke supply of data for a client worth over £400,000.00.
  • Advising finance and Group CFO around implementing new limits and rates for inter-company loan agreements whilst on secondment.

Education

Lisa-Marie was educated at Cardiff University, where she was awarded a first class law degree prior to completing a masters in law and gaining a distinction on the LPC.

Outside work, Lisa-Marie’s interests include following rugby, walking and travel.

Lisa-Marie was awarded Cardiff & District Law Society Junior Lawyer of the Year in May 2017.
