Professional Background
Laura was educated at the University of Bath where she studied Biology. She then completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at Swansea University and the Legal Practise Course at Cardiff University Law School before joining Acuity as a paralegal within the commercial projects team in August 2008.  Laura completed her training contract with Acuity and rejoined the commercial projects team as a qualified solicitor in October 2011.

Area of Practice  
Since joining Acuity, Laura has advised clients in both the public and private sector.  She assisted Deryn and Craig in acting for West Sussex County Council in the procurement, negotiation and completion of a £200 million materials resource management contract to provide waste disposal facilities and is assisting with a variation to an existing 25 year PFI recycling and waste handling contract.

Laura has provided support to the commercial projects team on a number of other matters including academy school projects, the establishment of a social enterprise, the procurement of an organisation to provide social housing facilities using a framework agreement and on various public procurement issues. Laura is currently on secondment to a local authority client’s in-house legal team. She is involved in a number of contracts, advising on the European Procurement regime, public law and council procedures for contract award and assisting in the drafting, preparation, review and negotiation of contract documents.
