James was educated at King's College London, the Sorbonne (University of Paris I) and the College of Law in London. He is an Associate of King's College London. James trained with Eversheds in Cardiff, Bristol and Paris and joined Capital Law following qualification in 2000 later becoming an Associate. He joined TLT LLP in 2006 as an Associate and joined Acuity in 2009 as a Senior Associate and Head of Employment, becoming a partner on 1 May 2010.
Area of Practice
An employment law specialist since 2000, James acts for a wide range of clients, from SME’s to FTSE listed companies as well as public sector organisations and employees advising on all areas of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious. James has particular expertise in discrimination law, unfair dismissal, changing terms and conditions, business reorganisations/restructures, TUPE, restrictive covenants, employee status issues and executive terminations.
He has extensive Employment Tribunal litigation experience and is an experienced advocate having represented clients at Employment Tribunals across the UK.
James is a Member of the Employment Lawyer’s Association and of Cardiff Employment Tribunal User’s Consultative Committee. He is fluent in French. James delivers client training on all aspects of employment law. He contributes to various publications on employment law related topics.
